Which billing methods does Projects support?
Projects supports five billing modes straight into Books: fixed milestones, percentage-of-completion progress billing, time-and-materials (pulling approved timesheets and billable expenses), advance invoices, and retention holdback/release.
Can employees log time and complete tasks without seeing project prices and margins?
Yes. The “My Work” view and standard team/field roles hide all budget, billing, and margin figures unless the user holds finance/project-cost permissions.
Can a billed timesheet or milestone be accidentally changed later?
No. Once a weekly timesheet is approved or a milestone/time entry is billed on a Books invoice, it is locked against modification.
What happens when a client agrees to a Change Order mid-project?
Approving a Change Order in Contracts automatically adds or updates the corresponding phases and billing milestones on the linked Project while keeping the original signed scope intact.
